The growing need for English language skills in developing countries means the bksb products are in higher demand than ever. In particular, India, Australia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates are increasingly committed to using English as a means to growing overseas trade and, in turn, their respective economies.
Attending the three-day World DIDAC exhibition in New Delhi gave members of the team a chance to showcase the bksb products to a new audience including tutors, students, providers and developers.
The bksb exhibition stand was visited by Mrs Sudha Pillai, Member Secretary of Planning Commission for the Government of India, who was impressed by the positive impact bksb products could have on learners’ skills.
bksb director Harvinder Atwal explained: “The exhibition was hugely successful for us. It provided a wonderful opportunity to meet with educationalists from across India and gain a real understanding of how important English language skills are to students from all backgrounds, as well as how improving their skills can, in turn, improve their futures.
“We look forward to continuing to build links in India – developing the bksb solution to truly meet the needs of educationalists and students alike.”
Staff also attended the second BETT Middle East Show at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in UAE. It was the second time bksb supported the event; welcoming hundreds of teachers and education ministers from in and around the Middle East to their exhibition stand.
The bksb team was visited by Robyn Nutt – the company’s representative from Australia – who spent a week working with colleagues, mapping all bksb assessments to the Australian Core Skills Framework. She even found time for a quick visit to the world-famous Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, in between strengthening business links with key personnel.
Finally, a delegation from Northlink College in Cape Town, South Africa spent two days with bksb finalising an agreement to supply the online product across South Africa.
